Why I make wearable art

Why do I love creating wearable art?  Because I believe in the magic that occurs when you own something that helps you appreciate that you are special, unique, and beautiful.  Because the smile that lights up your face when you take pleasure in the beauty of my work also warms my heart and soul. And because I need to share the beauty I see all around me through my work.

Creating wearable art is also good for my heart and soul.  It calms my mind and allows me to appreciate the beauty of how color and texture interact to create something truly unique and special.  It gives me the opportunity to experience the beauty that surrounds me.
Whether I’m working in polymer clay or hand weaving seed beads, magic occurs when I interact with the materials and allow the creativity hidden within me to flow out through my hands.  When I can quiet my heart and mind, I find that the materials tell me what they want to become.  That’s when I find inner peace and create my best work.

I believe that each of us is special and deserves beauty in our lives.  If you feel more special when you wear one of my pieces or wearable art, I’ve accomplished something important.  And if it helps you bring joy and beauty to someone else, we’ve become a team to make the world better.
   
I work from my home studio in an 1827 house in rural New Hampshire where the view of the river from my kitchen is part of my inspiration.  I share my home with my husband and my pal, Demi Bleu.
